Recovery

Today I was supposed to do a high school boys basketball quarter final game, but in route to the game I was diverted to a car in a river with someone trapped. The road was shut down on Route 21 in Belleville, NJ., so I took a chance and crossed the river farther south and shot from the other side. It payed off.

Unfortunately the driver was killed and was not reachable because the vehicle that he was in, was too damaged and submerged in the Passaic River making it impossible to recover him. The rescue crews gracefully removed the drivers body after bringing the smashed van to shore. It took about an hour before they were able to recover the body.

I was watching this come across the pager - van went right over the divider into the river and they couldn't find the driver. Crazy.
